Cost Engineer – UNOC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist in the preparation of Cost Control reports.
  • Participate in Monitoring and Control of the Project expenditures.
  • Plan, Study, and collect data to determine costs of general business activity and
  • projects, such as raw material purchases, machine and labour costs
  • Analyse input material unit costs and suggest changes where necessary
  • Analyse changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on product costs
  • Analyse actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs (periodical production & price variances)
  • Monitor project cost and review actual spending vs budgeted amount in order to determine variances
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and cash flow analysis as requested by Management to enable them to make more informed decisions regarding projects
  • Prepare accounting accruals related to projects to ensure that the books correctly reflect the value of the project
  • Provide inputs into the preparation of the project capital expenditure budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed
  • Prepare individual budgets for each phase of a large project, based on the overall project budget in order to gain further clarity
  • Prepare section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor(s)

Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelors degree (Hons) in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Economics, Quantity Surveying or Accounting.
  • A minimum of four (4) years working experience in the Oil and Gas Sector or a busy Manufacturing or Construction Environment.
  • Proven experience of working with different departments on the development and analysis of cost standards for Key Projects
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, PIMS + Ms Applications Excel, Word, PowerPoint) + Project Management Software (SmartSheet, Primavera, Trello, Jira)
  • Possession of Project Management (PMP) Certification is an added advantage
