Finance Officers (3 Posts) – Ministry of Education & Sports

Ministry of Education and Sports of Uganda is looking for three loans assessment and awards finance officers

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Finance Officer – Loans Assessment and Awards for performing the following duties:-

• Collecting data and information on loans applications, awards, disbursements, recoveries or defaults;
• Updating clients’ data on loans granted to Higher Education Institutions based on approved cases, requests for fees, disbursements and recoveries;
• Entering loan beneficiaries into the Integrated Loan Management Information System (ILMIS);
• Preparing periodic stakeholders’ loan processing, disbursement and recovery summaries;
• Identifying and compiling stock of loan applications or disbursement and loan recoveries and defaults periodically;
• Conducting initial appraisal of students’ loan applications
• Maintaining relationships with higher education institutions, and loan beneficiaries;
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting; or Financial Management; or Accountancy; or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance); or Commerce (Accounting or Finance) from a recognized awarding University/ Institution. OR For non-1st Degree holders Full professional qualification in Accountancy obtained from a recognized awarding Institution accredited by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
