Graduate Civil and Building Engineer – UNOC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Support civil engineering design process by participating in preparation of Civil
  • Engineering designs and drawings.
  • Support primary data collection and documentation.
  • Support in preparation of scope of works, specifications, bill of quantities and call for tender documents.
  • Support the process of Construction Management and supervision by acting as Site Representatives.
  • Participate in preparation of technical Proposals.
  • Participate in field engineering activities and collect data to support in solving operational challenges
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned within the scope of the Job role.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor(s)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree (Hons) in Civil and Building Engineering or any other relevant degree from a recognised University
  • Maximum 3 years relevant work experience and not later than three years from the time of graduation at a bachelors degree level.
  • Membership to a professional engineering body (e.g., UIPE – Graduate Membership) is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to oil and gas, energy, or industrial projects is an added advantage.

Skills and Competences

  • Ability to interpret Engineering Design
  • Knowledge of Civil and building Engineering Standards
  • Application of Petrochemical industry HSSE standards
  • Knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry value chain
  • Ability to perform preliminary engineering calculations including, but not limited to earthworks, foundations, drainage, concrete and steel design; Interpret site plans, understanding of bills of Quantities, structural drawings
  • Knowledge of application of Civil / Structural Engineering software e.g. AutoCAD, etc.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel on work related assignments
