Senior Communications Officer – UNOC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develop and implement the annual communications plan and social media content calendar
  • Maintain and update a media personalities databank.
  • Guide media agencies to develop and execute activities that are in line with the annual communications plan and social media content calendar
  • Coordinate engagements with the media on product launches
  • Work with the Senior PR Officer to coordinate the logistics for press conferences, interviews, and media tours.
  • Manage, update and ensure implementation of the UNOC brand guidelines
  • Lead the execution of all activities for visual brand building by supervising the activities of both internal and external expertise tasked with the production of the visual branding material
  • Lead and manage all internal communications for UNOC and its subsidiaries.
  • Supervise and manage the content on the UNOC intranet page in close liaison with the respective departments
  • 10)Develop digital media analysis and reports of insights from the news world
  • 11)Manage relationships with external media agencies.
  • 12)Develop and mentor junior staff.
  • 13)Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor(s).

Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Mass communication, Commerce, Public Policy, International Relations, Social Sciences; Languages and Linguistics or any other relevant degree from a recognised University.
  • Membership to the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) is an essential requirement
  • At least six (6) years of relevant experience, three (3) of which should have been attained in a busy corporate entity of high repute.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing social media content and/or digital media channels for a large organisation.
